God this Windows 11 update will be hell. Forced encryption will make it harder to deal with failing hardware, the blocking of software and the default browser option not being changable. I suppose it will still work via group policy.. But geez.

  • @WolfSon-MS on May 24, 2024

    "Upgrade" to Windows 11? ┌П┐

  • @JePeVePe on May 26, 2024

and you know what the annoying part is? EU says it wants to limit this control and power of big tech, but…. they wanna use it also themselves… with digital ID's and CDBC… we have no privacy left, and all our data/info is shared by big companies.

  • @missbilbybadinage1199 on May 27, 2024

1:46 There's 3 items in that list which would render my PC a brick if removed, thus not possible to upgrade.
PS not in position to back up on separate drive, etc… $ I just don't have.

  • @KevinLyda on May 28, 2024

I've been running a Linux desktop for nearly 30 years. Haven't needed Windows. And I've been working as a software engineer the whole time.

Seems to me folks should be upgrading.

  • @samsimington5563 on May 28, 2024

Welp RIP America then because the US is practically screwed if Microsoft gets hit by any well deserved karma (For the damn love of God let's just use Linux as an operating system instead of its Microsoft counterpart that's ripping it off)

  • @rmt74358 on May 28, 2024

So let me get this straight. Start all back will prevent 24H2 which will from we are told will take screenshots of everything you do and violate your privacy? Okay, maybe I need to install it.

  • @quantos8061 on May 28, 2024

Yay, I hope that's not just marketing propaganda.

  • @TheDecodedMatter on May 29, 2024

You know what I did when I had enough of Microsoft ?
I switched to Linux [Fedora]. Just 3 days ago.

  • @DeadSpatula on May 29, 2024

Radeon Software has blocked upgrades for a year now? guess i’m not upgrading anytime soon.

  • @charlesmangum2100 on May 30, 2024

Well, long live Big Brother Mcicrosft!! I slowly and seriously concidering Lenux.

  • @callibor3119 on May 30, 2024

Ever since Windows 8 their hardware was their only stronghold. Not software.

Apple and Alphabet have shown to push mobile to be as good with softwares as PCs even much so, turning mobile devices into PCs themselves with their latest softwares.

Windows is a warehouse of hardware. Apple and Google? A wonderland of softwares.

And Sony and Nintendo are trailing behind Apple and Google than Windows.

Playstation and Nintendo are becoming their own PCs as soon as the third or fourth quarter of this year, becoming capable of the metaverse with Apple and Google and even Meta.

Windows is falling behind Meta, which is 2nd behind for best VR atmosphere. Apple being the first pulling the best looking XR headset at first try.

It’s not looking so good for Microsoft users that are hardly pushing to Windows’ Hololens 1 and 2, which ironically was supposed to be competition to the late and discontinued Oculus Rift.

  • @unclesmrgol on June 2, 2024

Low reliability — made by microsoft, has worked reliably for over a decade, but brings in no ad revenue.
The User Choice Protection is good because it prevents a third party from hijacking your browser in order to insert malware. If you are allowed to change it via a user-initiated API call, that's good enough for me.

  • @TheRedMenace12 on June 3, 2024

Linux Mint user laughing at you. 🤣

  • @Invalidcookie-bv4cx on June 3, 2024

I found a better way to install the windows update.
you just have to download the "repair" update. My version of windows De-Activated instead and changed my Product ID to xxxxx So even with a VALID Home and PRO key it wouldn't activate.

  • @ChrisSmith-rm6xl on June 4, 2024

Hey! I can hear the person talking in the backgroud!! Thanks for finally solving this after all these years, and please don't go back to the mushmouth comments you used to have.

  • @enigma02g on June 4, 2024

Imagine how bad of a product and a company you have to be for other companies to exist solely to take your new products and make them more like your old ones. It's unheard of. Stop spying on people, stop making everything online. I'm happy to pay 250 dollars for an OS like a XP/Win7 hybrid that does zero spying, all accounts are offline and when I purchase software I OWN IT for life.

  • @georgemcgnarly3144 on June 4, 2024

I'm stuck on 10 because 11 blocks my wifi and eth for no reason.

  • @MichaelWerker-ei1hx on June 4, 2024

It's like former East Germany, which was called 'German Democratic Republic' (GDR). But there was no democracy, it was the hardest state in the Eastern European block. Everywhere was control, you never could know if your neighbour was not from the state security service. Opinions not matching with the gouvernment could quickly lead to restrictions or jail.

  • @echodelta9 on June 4, 2024

How about a lawsuit with ADA at bat. A lot of various disabled people (and lots of old folk) have to re adjust to so much when a friend sets up their new system. I demand that a legacy setup be retained and a lot of business people would too. The time (money) spent showing everyone how to do what was familiar. $$$. We don't need a fashion makeover in our IT lives. XP looked good enough and got the job done, update the stuff behind the look only please.

  • @Teledabby on June 5, 2024

easy way to prevent MS updates? Great.

  • @Samson1 on June 5, 2024

Explorer.exe has crashed more than StartAllBack, which hasn't since I began using it three years ago.

  • @Simrealism on June 5, 2024

Switched to Linux and everything works out of the box and all my Steam games work so bye Windows

  • @battlehacka on June 6, 2024

Fixes that you wouldn't have without Microsoft. But what's the problem? Looks more like a solution to me

  • @kpunkt.klaviermusik on June 6, 2024

I wanted to ask how to disable updates. This could be the solution 😂

Windows is so dangerous now that Microsoft has to stop updates themselves.

  • @KEIO-qd1zx on June 6, 2024

As a Linux user I'm happy of the publicity that Microsoft is doing for other OSes

  • @samuelllakaj5439 on June 6, 2024

1:23 even if the software is unreliable and crashes often, that isn't their computer, it's ours. They have no right trying to "optimise" computers by blocking ANY app except viruses.
Even then, "blocking" customisation apps is not what they're doing. They're straight-up blocking YOU from getting the updates.

  • @darsparx on June 6, 2024

Microsoft keeps confirming why I'm glad I switched to linux. Like the lack of trust they have for their own users to use their own systems and customize it how they want is just bonkers. I know there's a bunch of software taht doesn't work here but good lord no to apple or microsoft anymore. Just no more of their bs and telling us how to use our own hardware >_<

  • @markfieten9558 on June 6, 2024

Said it before, I'll say it again, Microsoft is slowly turning in to Apple. Let's boycot Win11 altogether!

  • @Rexorazor on June 6, 2024

Right click doesn't even show "Refresh" button anymore.

I have to risk hitting the f4 or f6 buttons when i want to refresh.
